
Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Shore & Side. By booking our services, you (the "Client") agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Booking & Payment

Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to secure your date.

Final Payment: The remaining balance must be paid in full no later than 7 days prior to the event date.

Last-Minute Bookings: Bookings made within 7 days of the event must be paid in full at the time of booking.
2. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Our policy complies with Australian Consumer Law regarding "Change of Mind."

Client Cancellation: If you cancel more than 7 days out, you forfeit your deposit. If you cancel within 7 days of the event, the full fee is non-refundable as we have already procured perishables and reserved equipment.

Weather Policy: We do not offer refunds for bad weather. However, we offer one free reschedule if the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) predicts dangerous weather (heavy rain/high winds) 48 hours before the event.

Provider Cancellation: In the rare event that Shore & Side must cancel (e.g., illness or emergency), a full refund or immediate reschedule will be provided.
3. Equipment & Damages

Responsibility: The Client is responsible for all equipment from the time of setup until we arrive for pack-down. Equipment must never be left unattended.

Damages: Any breakages, significant stains (red wine, wax, etc.), or missing items will be invoiced at replacement value plus a 10% admin fee.

The Tables: Our Merbau tables are handcrafted. Please do not place heavy objects or open flames directly on the wood without protection.
4. Locations & Permits

Public Spaces: Shore & Side operates in public parks and beaches (e.g., Clontarf, Balmoral). We follow all NSW Council regulations.

Permits: While we provide the setup, some councils require a "Small Gathering Permit" for groups over a certain size. The Client is responsible for ensuring they comply with local council rules regarding group size and alcohol consumption in public.

Arrival: If the Client is more than 20 minutes late to the setup, we reserve the right to leave the equipment (if safe) or pack up, in which case the booking is forfeited.
5. Alcohol & Food

RSA: Shore & Side does not hold a liquor license. We provide the "vessels" (glassware/ice buckets). Any alcohol consumed is the sole responsibility of the Client.

Allergies: For any catering add-ons, the Client must notify us of life-threatening allergies at least 7 days prior. While we take care, we cannot guarantee a 100% nut-free environment.
6. Liability & Indemnity

Public Liability: Shore & Side holds Public Liability Insurance. However, we are not liable for any injuries sustained by the Client or their guests during the event (e.g., trips, falls, or injuries related to third-party kayak hire).

Indemnity: The Client indemnifies Shore & Side against all claims, costs, and expenses resulting from the Client’s use of the equipment or location.
7. Force Majeure
Shore & Side is not liable for failure to perform our obligations due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, or park closures.
